Or know why. Nobody will believe her. Not the police; not her friends; not the families of the victims; and not even Kelly, her own sister. Is she afraid that the killer will come back? Or does she know more than she is saying? Shunned at school and feeling alone, Tegan must sort through her memories and try to decide what is real and what is imagined. And in the end she must decide whether she has the strength to stand up and do the right thing

My Opinion: loved it!

My Opinion:
I started to get really frustrated at Johanna, not gonna lie. But this book is pretty good.

Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson

Synopsis:
Tyler Miller, whose transformation from a meek, social Mr. Cellophane to a chiseled, admired “tough guy” sets his world on end. As someone who spends his days unnoticed, Tyler finds himself with more attention than he wanted after he vandalizes school property and, to pay for his crime, takes a summer job doing landscaping. The unforeseen side effect is that he returns the next school year with a brand new bod that’s turning heads, most notably the head of Bethany Milbury. But not everything —- even Bethany’s advances —- works out well for Tyler. As he struggles to contend with his angry father, a mistrustful faculty and the aftermath of a drunken party, Tyler comes to the painful realization that there’s a substantial price tag for his newfound popularity, and juggling the consequences lead him to thoughts of suicide.

My Opinion:
I really like how she writes her books. from speak, to wintergirls, to this.. those are three of my favorite books. This is an amazing book, I couldn’t put it down.

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

Synopsis:
Lia is a wintergirl; her own self-destructive anorexia leaves her with too little body fat to keep her out of the deep freeze. On top of that, she’s being haunted by her ex-best friend, another winter girl who managed to purge herself to a lonely death in her fight with food. Lia struggles to hide her slide toward absolute zero, the only weight she’ll finally accept for herself. But at the bottom is death, joining her friend—is that what Lia really wants?

My Opinion:
I read this book in one day. It made me cry and it’s a really good book. Unlike some of the other books I’ve read, I couldn’t predict the ending on this one. I really really loved this book.

Parrotfish by Ellen Wittlinger

Synopsis:
Angela has never felt quite right as a girl. Her whole life is leading up to the day she decides to become Grady, a guy. While coming out as transgendered feels right to Grady, he isnt prepared for the reaction he gets from everyone else. His mother is upset, his younger sister is mortified, and his best friend, Eve, won’t acknowledge him in public. Why can’t people just let Grady be himself? Grady’s life is miserable until he finds friends in some unexpected places-like the school geek Sebastian, who explains that there is a precedent in the natural world (parrotfish change gender when they need to, and the newly male fish are the alpha males), and Kita, a senior who might just be Grady’s first love.

My Opinion:
Easily one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Split Screen by Brent Hartinger

Synopsis:
Two books in one recount the stories of best friends Min and Russel who sign up to be extras on the set of a zombie film - then learn that there’s nothing scarier than high school romance. Read one story, flip the book over, and read the other. In Attack of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies, Russel must choose between his long-distance boyfriend and a close-to-home ex who wants to get back together. In Bride of the Soul-Sucking Brain Zombies, Min meets a girl. Russel and Min’s separate stories affect each other in surprising ways - but you’ll have to read both books to find out how.

My Opinion:
Okay, the idea for the story is good. But I hate how it was written. Especially the Russel part. I just think it’s terribly written. Like.. really badly. But Min’s story was better for some reason. It was alright.

Boy Proof by Cecil Castellucci

Snyopsis:
Her name is Egg. She’s named herself after the kick-ass heroine of her favorite sci-fi movie Terminal Earth. She always knows the right answers, she’s always in control, and she can’t be bothered with friends - much less members of the opposite sex. As far as she’s concerned, she’s boy proof. And she likes it that way.

My Opinion:
I read this in one day. I really liked Egg/Victoria as a character. She wasn’t as normal as all the other characters I’ve read about in other books. She’s cute.
